Villa, Gaddafi register victories as Onduparaka draw on return home

SC Villa beat UPDF FC 2-0 during a Uganda Premier league contest at the Akii Bua Memorial Stadium in Lira on Sunday.

Charles Bbaale and Ivan Bogere scored in either half to inspire the Jogoos to a third consecutive win.

Bbaale gave the home side the lead in the 28th minute before second half subsitute Bogere sealed the victory.

Villa move to 4th place with 23 points garnered in 13 games while UPDF stay 13th with 7 points on the log just a point above the red zone.

In the other game played on Sunday, Gaddafi powered past Blacks Power 3-1 at Kakindu Stadium.

Goals from Brian Kalumba, Bakari Magumba and Elvis Ngondwe netted for Wasswa Bbosa coached side.

Ronald Musana found a consolation for the visitors.

Gaddafi move to 6th place while Blacks Power stay 12th with 9 points.

Meanwhile, Onduparaka needed a late Rashid Okocha equalizer against Maroons to salvage at least a point on their return to Greenlight Stadium.

Nathan Oloro had given Onduparaka an early lead from the spot before Isaac Mpagi and Fred Amaku gave Maroons a 2-1 lead.

Okocha secured a point in the 90th minute to earn Steven Bogere his first point as Onduparaka head coach.

The Caterpillars remain the only side without a win this term and are currently bottom with just 3 points while Maroons are 9th with 14 points.
