Vipers SC extended their lead at the summit of the Uganda Premier league with a 2-0 win over Mbarara City on Tuesday at Kitende.
Najib Yiga and Milton Karisa’s goals earned the Kitende based side maximum points.
The Ankole Lions are now winless in 14 league games after suffering yet another defeat. They last won a league game during a 3-2 win over Onduparaka in December last year.
Yiga gave the Venoms the lead at the stroke of halftime heading home a Disan Galiwango cross.

Moments later, Caesar Manzoki who replaced Bright Anukani midway into the first half had a golden opportunity to double the home side’s lead with only custodian Muhamed Ssekeba to beat but his effort went wide.
After the recess, Manzoki had his left footed effort kiss the bar.
Defender Livingstone Mulondo looked to have pulled down Henry Kitegenyi in the forbidden area moments later but center referee Opio Deogratious waved away the claim.
Karisa made it 2-0 with a cool finish that sealed maximum points for the league leaders on a day they didn’t impress.
Victory sees Vipers move to 52 points garnered in 22 games, seven above second placed KCCA while Mbarara are second from the bottom with just 19 points in 24 games.
The Venoms next travel to URA FC on 12th April while Mbarara host Police FC.
