Vipers SC have become the favourites to land Kyetume FC goalie Joel Mutakubwa in the upcoming transfer window.
The Venoms are moving nearer to signing the highly rated custodian after pushing ahead of Express FC in the queue to sign Mutakubwa.
Express FC were knowingly in pursuit of the goalkeeper but have been reluctant and it appears Vipers have stepped in and taken pole position.

Swift Sports understands that Mutakubwa is set to sign a contract with the Uganda Premier league champions until 2023.
The Kitende outfit are likely to lose first choice Fabien Mutombora while Derrick Ochan’s employment contract is due to expire in December this year.
Mutakubwa played a total of 19 league games for the Mukono based side and won man of the match accolade in five games (twice against Proline, Police, Wakiso Giants and URA FC) more than any player in the 2019/20 campaign.

His superb performances elevated him to the National team set up and was part of the Uganda Cranes CECAFA Senior Challenge Cup triumphant team last year.
