Vipers SC have secured their place in the quarterfinals of the Stanbic Uganda Cup with a 4-2 aggregate score over UPDF FC in the two legged round of 16 tie.

Bobosi Byaruhanga scored from a direct corner kick to cancel out Joseph Vuni early strike as the Kitende outfit played out to a 1-1 stalemate with the army side in the second leg at St.Mary’s Kitende on Monday. Vipers won the first leg 3-1 in Bombo last week.

Vuni gave the visitors the lead heading home an Isa Mubiru corner early in the first period.

Bobosi restored parity in the 23rd minute when he accurately scored from a direct corner leaving former Vipers custodian Eric Kibowa helpless.

The two sides settled for the draw as Vipers sailed to the last eight of the competition.

Vipers last won the competition during the 2015/16 season when they beat Onduparaka in the final.

Vipers visit KCCA FC on May 9 while UPDF face Wakiso Giants two days earlier, both in the league.
