According to www.viperssc.co.ug, Basangwa has signed a three year contract with the club fondly known as “Community of champions”.
The former national U-20 striker spent last season on loan at Gaddafi FC having gained his top flight debut in 2020.
He was one of Uganda’s stars at AFCON U-20 championships in Mauritania where the cubs lost to winners Ghana in the finals and he was on target once in Uganda’s victory over Tunisia.

His new side was formed 20 years ago and they first gained promotion to the Egyptian premier league in 2010.
Last season, they competed in the topflight and were relegated after finishing 16th on the log.
Basangwa joins other Ugandans in Egypt like Allan Kyambadde of El Dakhleya, Gavin Kizito Mugweri who joined Al Ittihad Alexandria early this week and Joseph Ochaya joined Arab Contractors in the same transfer window from TP Mazembe
