KCCA FC will host Vipers SC in a classic Uganda Premier League contest on Sunday evening at the MTN Omondi Stadium.
The hosts come into this contest languishing in 4th position with 37 points garnered in 21 games and are 9 points behind their day’s opponents. The Venoms are second placed with 46 points and four adrift of leaders URA FC.
KCCA FC lost their previous league game 2-0 to Soltilo Bright Stars at Lugogo while Vipers hammered minnows MYDA FC 4-0 in Tororo.

Both sides however progressed to the quarterfinals of the Stanbic Uganda Cup with KCCA FC edging Maroons 5-0 on aggregate while Vipers secured their place with a 4-2 aggregate win over UPDF FC in the two legged round of 16 tie.
In the last 22 games between the two sides, KCCA FC has managed 6 wins, Vipers 10 and 6 have ended in stalemates.
The home side have however registered 4 wins, lost 2 and drawn 2 in the last 8 league games they have hosted Vipers at Lugogo.

Vipers beat KCCA FC in the first round 1-0 courtesy of a Peter Magambo own goal at Kitende.
The two sides have dominated the Uganda Premier League in the last eight years with KCCA FC winning 5 titles and Vipers 3 within the same period.
KCCA FC head coach Morley Byekwaso says that his side is fully focused for the mouthwatering fixture.
“We face a tough side in Vipers that are 9 points clear from us on the table. We are fully focused on winning the game and keeping our chase for the title alive.
We can not afford to lose any more games as we have hit the final bend of the season.” Byekwaso revealed to the club website.
His counter part Fred Kajoba also says that his charges are set for the game

“There cannot be a better time for this fixture than now, we are set and will be keen on building on the recent good run we have away from home.
“The ambitions are there, of course, and we have been here before and know what to do, we need to get positive results and we can do so by creating chances, taking them and scoring goals.”
“We are not under any pressure whatsoever because we take a game at a time, what happened weeks back is history, we want to now focus on a different game tomorrow . We have the chance to turn things around and it’s a good and special match to do so.”
KCCA FC duo of assistant captain Julius Poloto and Ashraf Mugume is fully fit for this game however they will miss the services of defender Filbert Obenchan, Andrew Kawooya, Charles Lwanga and Brian Aheebwa through respectively injuries.
Only Dan Sserunkuma and Ahmed Amayo remain absent for the Venoms but the rest of the squad is fit for the game.
