Nicholas Wadada Wakiro has been named among the 30-man list for the Tanzania Vodacom League’s Most Valuable Player (MVP) award of the recently concluded 2019/20 season.
The Uganda Cranes roving right-back had a stellar season with Azam FC registering eight assists and scoring one goal which came against Biashara United.
Wadada’s Azam FC finished third on the 20-team table with 70 points behind champions Simba SC and second-placed Yanga Africans.

The former Vipers captain will face stiff competition from Simba’s trio of Clatous Chama, Francis Kahata and veteran striker Meddie Kagere who was the league top scorers with 22 goals.
John Bocco, Shomari Kapombe, Jonas Mkude, Luis Miquissone and goalkeeper Aishi Manula are other players from Simba that have made the list.
Wadada’s teammates Idd Nado and Obrey Chirwa have also been named among the 30.

Yanga SC have striker David Molinga, Feisal Salum, Mapenduzi Balama, Deus Kaseke and Juma Abdul.
Azam FC newly signed midfielder Awesu Awesu is among the three nominees from Kagera Sugar, others are David Luhende and Yusuph Mhilu.
Namungo FC trio of Lucas Kikoti, Blaise Bigirimana and Reliants Lusajo together with Abdulmajid Mangalo and Daniel Mgore both from Biashara United, Ayoub Lyanga and Bakari Mwamnyeto (Coastal Union), Martin Kigi (Alliance FC), Daruweshi Saliboko (Lipuli FC) and Marcel Kaheza (Polisi Tanzania) complete the list.
The list will be reduced to 10 players with the winner set to be named on 7th August at Mlimani City in Dar es Salaam.
