Wakiso Hill Women Football came from a goal down to get a 1-1 draw against She Maroons in the FUFA Women Super League at the Luzira Prisons Ground on Saturday.
Wakiso Hill came into the game after losing their opener to Makerere University at Kitende while She Maroons beat Asubo Gafford Ladies 5-0 at Kampala Quality.
It was a closely contested encounter and had limited goal scoring attempts from either side.
Wakiso Hill’s defence neutralized the She Maroons attack and kept Lillian Kasuubo, who had scored a hat trick the previous week, at bay.

The She Maroons defense was not bothered as Wakiso Hill couldn’t pose serious threats in the final third.
Kasubo came close to finding the opener as her feeble low effort found its way through a forest of legs but hit the lower post in the 28th minute.
Wakiso also had attempts through defender Fatumah Nakasumba and forwards Moureen Kimono, Zaitun Namaganda and Rashida Nankya towards the stroke of halftime.
Following a large spell of a stalemate, the deadlock was broken in the 70th minute as Jackline Adong capitalized on a defensive lapse to give She Maroons the lead.
Wakiso Hill retaliated and found the equalizer in the 85th minute through substitute Sylvia Namiwanda, who tapped home from close range after goalkeeper Proscovia Adong fumbled with Namaganda’s goal bound free kick.
