Morocco produced the lastest world cup shock with a 2-0 over Belgium on Sunday in thanks to late goals by Abdelhamid Sabiri and Zakaria Aboukhlal.
The two substitutes rewarded Morocco for their second-half performance that was full of purpose, style and intensity.
Belgium custodian Thibaut Courtois was at fault for the first goal as he misread Sabiri’s free kick at his near post with 17 minutes to play.
Aboukhlal doubled Morocco’s lead in stoppage time after being fed by Hakim Ziyech to spark wild celebrations in the stands of Al Thumama Stadium.
Morocco have won only their third match at the World Cup, and they’ll remember this one until the end of their days. Before today’s victory over Belgium, there previous wins were against Portugal 1986 and Scotland 1998.
