West Nile edge Lango on aggregate to win FUFA Drum

West Nile were crowned champions of the third edition of the FUFA Drum tournament on aggregate 3-2 despite a 2-1 defeat to Lango Province at Aki Bua Stadium Lira.

Captain Rashid Toha scored the vital goal that helped West Nile clinch the championship.

Joachim Ojera and Dickens Okwir had scored in the 11th and 38th minutes respectively to put the aggregate score level and a 2-0 lead for Lango Province.

West Nile had won the first leg 2-0 at Greenlight Stadium Arua courtesy of Fred Amaku and Toha’s goals.

The White Rhinos join Buganda Province and Acholi Province that won the first and second editions in 2018 and 2019 respectively.

Allan Okello of Lango Province finished with four goals hence emerging the top scorer.

Nafian Alionzi of West Nile Province was named the best goalkeeper of the tournament while Lango’s Denis Omedi scooped the MVP accolade.

Fred Muhumuza of Tooro Province was named best coach of the tournament.

All individual winners walked away with one million Uganda Shillings.
