FUFA Big League side Kitara FC and Uganda Premier League outfit Wakiso Giants FC became the first two teams to reach the Round of 16 of the Stanbic Uganda Cup.
Kitara edged Uganda Pentecostal University 2-1 at Kigaaya P/S in Hoima on Tuesday while Wakiso Giants needed shootouts to eliminate fellow UPL side Blacks Power 6-5 after a goalless draw in normal time at the Akii Bua Memorial Stadium in Lira.
Dudu Ramadhan netted a brace as Sam Ssimbwa’s Kitara beat Pentecostal University 2-1 at Kigaaya playground. Bwambale AbdulBurst scored Pentecostal University’s goal.
The Stanbic Uganda Cup Round of 64 action will continue with three fixtures on Wednesday that will involve last year’s runners-up Vipers SC.
