Kenya Premier League side Kakamega Homeboyz have completed the signing of Ugandan goalkeeper Cleo James Ssetuba on a free transfer.

Ssetuba has been a free agent after leaving Tanzania’s Ihefu FC when his short term contract expired.

The lanky shot stopper returns to Kenya having previously played for Sony Sugar in the 2019/20 season.

He is a former goalkeeper at URA FC, Soltilo Bright Stars, Nyamityobora FC and was part of the squad that guided Wakiso Giants to a topflight promotion a few seasons ago.

Last season while playing for Tanzania’s Biashara United, Ssetuba was among the best goalkeepers in the league and garnered eight clean sheets before joining Ihefu FC at the start of the season.

He now reunites with coach Patrick Odhiambo who previously coached at Sony Sugar and Biashara United.

Kakamega Homeboyz currently sit 8th on the table but hope to reignite their slimming title hopes having missed out on the last season’s title in the final stages.

The Kakamega based side have also signed Kevin Amwanyi, Dennis Sikhayi and Somali forward Mohamed Adnan.
