2023 AFCON Qualifiers: Anaku to miss Cranes double header against Tanzania

Uganda Cranes striker Sadat Anaku will miss the AFCON Qualification double header against neighbours Tanzania.

Anaku who features for Scottish side Dundee United will miss the Cranes encounters against Tanzania due to injury.

His club Dundee United confirmed to FUFA that the forward is injured.

Anaku missed Dundee United’s league contest against St.Mirren.

He last played for Dundee United senior team during their 1-1 draw at Livingston on March 8th. Last night he however played for Dundee United B as they beat Queens Park in the Reserves League.

The former KCCA FC striker has made 12 league appearances for Dundee United. Anaku is yet to make a senior Cranes debut.

Meanwhile, foreign based players who include skipper Emmanuel Okwi, Farouk Miya, Isma Mugulusi, Steven Sserwadda and assistant captain Khalid Aucho have joined the Cranes camp at Mecure Hotel in Ismailia, Egypt.

Uganda will play Tanzania on Friday, 24th March at Suez Canal Authority Stadium before the two teams face off again four days later in Dar es Salaam.
