Mukwala hits double figures in Ghana Premier League

Steven Mukwala scored a second half brace to inspire Asante Kotoko to a 4-0 win over Real Tamale United in the Ghana Premier League last night.

Mukwala converted a penalty in the 48th minute and completed a brace with a clinical finish in the 66th minute.

Brazilian forward Matheus Medieros and Augustine Agyapong scored the other goals on the night.

The Uganda Cranes striker was later stretchered off at the stroke of full-time before grabbing the man of the match accolade.

Mukwala has now scored 10 goals and five assists in the league in his debut season for the Porcupine Warriors.

He is the league’s second leading scorer with just one goal behind Berekum Chelsea’s Mezack Afriyie who has 11 goals. Hafiz Konkoni of Bechem United also has 10 goals.

Asante Kotoko who are also the league’s defending champions, currently sit 5th on the table with 38 points, six behind leaders Aduana Stars who have played a game more.

Mukwala and teammates will be back in action on Wednesday 5th April as they host King Faisal FC.
