Mityana SS qualify for first ever National Post Primary

Mityana Secondary School Namukozi will this year feature at the finals of the National Post Primary Schools Championship for the first time in history.

Mityana SS grabbed a slot after overcoming Mityana District Post Primary champions Ssingo SS 1-0 in the playoff to determine the third slot in the Mpigi Region Football Qualifiers on Saturday.

Mityana SS is one of the oldest schools in the country but had never prevailed to the nationals in their 114 year history.

Brian Ijala scored the all important goal that sent the historic school to the Nationals that will be held in Fort Portal this year.

Ssingo SS are managed by Masaza Cup winning specialist Felix Ssekabuza.

The Mpigi Zone Qualifiers kicked off on 12th April and climax on Saturday.

Royal Giant beat Mpigi Mixed 2-0 in the final, courtesy of a Annest Ankunda brace.

Mityana SS joined Royal Giant and Mpigi Mixed as the three schools that will represent Mpigi Region in Fort Portal.
