Vipers closed the gap on leaders SC Villa with a narrow 1-0 win over Arua Hill in the rescheduled fixture played at Barifa Stadium on Tuesday.

Abubaker Lawal scored the all important goal for Alex Isabirye’s side who registered their first win away to Arua Hill.

The Nigerian gave the visitors the lead in the first minute of the contest.

At the stroke of halftime, Lawal thought he had doubled Vipers advantage but was denied by the assistant Referee’s flag. Replays however showed that the forward was onside.

Isabirye’s side next face off with SC Villa on Saturday, 29th April at Muteesa II Stadium in Wankulukuku.

Arua Hill on the other hand stay on 33 points and will next play their neighbors Onduparaka FC on Friday.
