Vipers ready to bounce back from Villa defeat against Gaddafi

Wounded Vipers SC will seek redemption when they host struggling Gaddafi FC in the late kickoff at St.Mary’s Stadium in Kitende on Tuesday.

The Venoms come into this contest after suffering a 1-0 defeat to leaders SC Villa.

The Soldier boys lost 1-0 KCCA FC in their previous fixture at Kakindu Stadium.

Alex Isabirye’s side is currently third on the Uganda Premier league table with 39 points they have garnered in 21 points.

Gaddafi on the other hand are 10th on the log with 29 points.

This will be the fourth meeting between the two sides, Vipers have won two and lost once to Gaddafi in the previous three meetings.

When the two sides met in the first round this season, Gaddafi beat Vipers 1-0 at Kakindu Stadium.

Team News

Vipers will miss the services of defender Livingstone Mulondo who was forced off after a concussion with Travis Mutyaba in the defeat to Villa.

The game also comes too early for forward Yunus Sentamu, Marvin Youngman and long-term absentees Murushid Juuko and Alfred Mudekereza.

Gaddafi will be without the duo of Richard Bbosa and Simon Sserunkuma due to respective injuries.

Left back Dan Birikwalira is expected to face his former paymasters.
