Mike Mutebi rebuffed an approach from KCCA FC over talks about a potential return to Lugogo as the Kasasiro boys new head coach search continues.

Mutebi reportedly made it clear that he had no interest in a return to KCCA FC after he was approached to discuss a return to Lugogo.

KCCA FC currently have former boss Jackson Mayanja in place as caretaker after Morley Byekwaso’s resignation.

According to reliable sources, Mutebi was contacted by KCCA FC for a potential return to Lugogo where he enjoyed success during his reign, but refused to participate in discussions over the vacancy.

Sources close to Mutebi reveal he is not willing to return to Lugogo when Martin Ssekajja is still the club chairman.

The source asserts that at the time he was dispensed at Lugogo, Mutebi felt isolated without a football figure to consult with outside of his coaching coterie and had never encountered a club chairman akin to Ssekajja.

Mutebi is still a popular figure at KCCA FC after guiding the Lugogo based side to three League titles (03), Two (02) Uganda Cups, Four (04) Super Cups and One (01) CECAFA Clubs Cup during his reign.

KCCA FC are currently second placed on the Uganda Premier league table with 45 points they have garnered in 23 games.
