Police bounced back to winning ways with a 5-1 convincing victory against bottom placed Northern Gateway at Kavumba Recreation grounds.

Jackson Ssemugabi, Herman Wasswa, Denis Kalanzi scored each for the Cops while the other two were scored by brace star Emmanuel Mugume.

Kalanzi scored the first seconds after kick-off with a wonderful solo effort.

Emmanuel Obete pulled one for the already relegated Northern Gateway with a penalty kick after Kiryowa’s handball in the area.

Mugume made it 3-1 at the hour mark before Wasswa rose to the score sheet two minutes to make it 4-1.

Ssemugabi wrapped up the rout with a thumping free kick in the 80th minute.

With two games to climax the FUFA Big League 2022/23 season, Angello Lonyesi the head coach of Police FC believes promotion is very much possible depending on the fixtures his side and fellow promotional faithfuls NEC FC are left with,

“We came in this game with a lot of pressure which led to lack of concentration from the players in the first half, we managed to handle the situation at half time and got the desired result.”

“Right now our chances of bouncing back to top flight are high our competitor NEC has lost and they seem to have tough opponents in their last games.”

Police FC remained in the fourth position despite victory with 50 points one below NEC in the third position.
