The management team of Buddu Ssaza team has confirmed Simon Peter Mugerwa as their head coach ahead of the 2023 Masaza Cup tournament.
Mugerwa guided Busiro to their first ever Masaza Cup triumph after their 2-1 win over Buddu in last edition’s final.
He replaces Ibrahim Kirya who helped Buddu reach the final last year.
He returns to Buddu where he previously worked as Steven Bogere’s assistant and won the same tournament in 2016. Mugerwa is also the head coach at Buddo SS.
Buddu are two time Masaza Cup winners (2016 and 2021) and are seeking for their third triumph.
Mugerwa and his side are in Masengere group alongside Buwekula, Kyaggwe, Kyadondo, Buluuli and Kooki. He is currently with Buddo SS school team at the ongoing USSSA National Football championship in Fort Portal.
