2023 Fresh Diary Games: Amus College stun St.Noa to clinch Girls’ football title

Amus College School from Bukedea clinched the Fresh Diary girls football title after a 1-0 win over St.Noa Girls, Zana in the final played at Kakyeka Stadium in Mbarara on Monday.

Lillian Nabirye scored a last gasp winner from a well taken free kick to deny St.Noa from retaining the title they won last year.

The final marked the climax of the 2023 fresh diary games.

Ismail Mulindwa, the director of Standards in the Ministry of education and sports was the chief guest.

Commissioner Ministry of education and Sports Rev. Canon Duncans Mugumya also graced the event.

Mulindwa thanked the Uganda Secondary Schools Sports Association for helping the students to showcase their talents in various sports disciplines

“I appreciate the work of USSSA for the job well done to help the students engage in sports and develop their talents. This is key in the education system as well as development of their take ts which could be a way of living in future times.”Said Mulindwa as quoted by the USSSA website

USSSA President Justus Mugisha thanked the hosts Ntare and Mbarara High as well as all the participants

“I want to thank the different schools, Uganda hear teachers’ Association, the hosts (Ntare School and Mbarara High), the sponsors, students, coaches, referees and umpires as well as the local community for the collective responsibility of making these games a success.” He stated
