FUFA DRUM: Bunyoro, Ankole off the mark as this year’s edition gets underway

Bunyoro and Ankole provinces registered victories from their respective games as the fourth edition of the FUFA Drum tournament officially kicked off.

Vialli Bainomugisha’s Ankole defeated Bukedi 2-0 at St George’s Stadium in Tororo.

Defender Benon Tahomera was unlucky to score in his own net as early as the third minute of minute.

Ankole’s second goal was scored Seiri Arigumaho who was also named man of the match.

At Kigaya grounds in Hoima, Bunyoro defeated Sebei 3-0 courtesy of Kabon Living’s brace and Brian Aheebwa’s goal.

The return legs will be played on Saturday 1st July Sebei hosts Bunyoro as Sebei College in Kapchorwa while Ankole and Bukedi will play from Bushenyi Stadium in Bushenyi.

Action resumes tomorrow Sunday 25th June with two fixtures

Busoga Province will host Karamoja at the Municipal Stadium in Kamuli and Kigezi visits Rwenzori at Nyakasanga grounds in Kasese

The eventual winning teams on this stage will automatically progress to the group stage in a newly established format of the tournament.
