Vipers SC tactician Alex Isabirye Musongola is set to walk away from his role as Vipers head coach, Swift Sports Uganda understands.

Isabirye replaced Roberto Luiz Bianchi Pelliser alias Beto Bianchi midway into last season.

Earlier this week, the Venoms appointed Republic of Congo (DRC) native Lukusa Kayembe Raoul as their assistant coach.

Last season, Isabirye guided Vipers to a Cup double (League title and Uganda Cup). The achievement saw Vipers join SC Villa, KCCA FC and Express who are the other sides to have done a double.

Isabirye himself joined Geoff Hudson (SC Villa), Paul Hasule (SC Villa), Polly Ouma (SC Villa), Jimmy Muguwa (Express FC) and Milutin Sredojevic (SC Villa) and Mike Mutebi who are the other coaches to have won a Cup double.

Isabirye was named the Pilsner UPL coach of the year at the awards ceremony.

He has previously served at URA FC, Victoria University FC, Soana FC, Busoga United, Kyetume FC, Somalia side Horseed FC and BUL FC.
