Vipers SC head coach Neiva Leo Martins believes his charges can overcome Botswana’s Jwaneng Galaxy in the return leg of their Preliminary round and advance into the next phase.

The Venoms suffered a 2-0 defeat to the Botswana side in the first leg that was played at the Lobatse Sports Complex on Sunday.

Thabang Sesinyi netted in either half as Jwaneng Galaxy prevailed to victory.

Vipers head coach Neiva asserts that the tie is still open and they will work on their mistakes before the return leg on Saturday.

“It was a very good game between the two sides. Galaxy are an organized team and congratulations to them. The game is still open, so if Galaxy are able to score two goals at their home then we can also score in Uganda and move into the next round. We have to work hard to fix some mistakes and the game for us is still open.”

On the attitude of his players

“I can’t criticise the attitude because they were trying, but it’s the way we tried, It wasn’t good enough.”

Said Neiva

The two sides will face off in the return at St.Mary’s Stadium in Kitende on Saturday with the aggregate winner taking on the victor between Comoros’ Djabal FC or South Africa’s Orlando Pirates in the final preliminary round in September.
