The Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) President Moses Magogo has revealed that they are in talks to Co-host the CHAN tournament in 2024.
Magogo who was returning from Egypt where East African countries Uganda, Kenya and Tanzania won the hosting rights of the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations stated that they want to use the 2024 CHAN event as a rehearsal.
“We are ready and our leaders have committed full support to the project. We have everything that we need to host AFCON. We have communicated to CAF that we are ready as the three East African countries to host CHAN 2024 as a rehearsal for the 2027 AFCON.”

The African Nations Championship (CHAN), is a biennial African association football tournament organized by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) since 2009.
Meanwhile, the 2027 AFCON will be the first time that the continental showpiece will be staged by three countries.
The last time an East African country hosted the biggest soccer event of the continent was in 1976 in Ethiopia.
