Wakiso Giants beat UPDF to record first win

Wakiso Giants cruised to their first victory of the season with a 2-0 away win to UPDF FC on Friday at Bombo Barracks Grounds.

Blanchar Mulamba and Kenneth Kimera scored the two goals for the Purple Sharks.

New recruit Mulamba netted his first goal for the John Ayala Luyinda coached side at the hour mark moments after he had replaced debutant Baker Lukoya.

Kimera put the seal on Wakiso’s win with a sensational strike.

The striker also features for Gomba in the prestigious Buganda Masaza Cup.

Wakiso had managed one draw and lost once in their opening two fixtures.

The army side remain winless this term with two defeats and a stalemate. They are now 13th on the Uganda Premier league table.

UPDF FC next face off with newcomers NEC FC on 20th October.

Meanwhile, victory takes Wakiso to 9th position with 4 points. They next travel to URA FC on 21st October, 2023.
