Mugwanya Preparatory School old students have revealed the plans to construct a mini-stadium at the school.
The old students through their Mugwanya Kabojja Old Boys Association (MUKOBA) confirmed their plans on Friday at the press conference held at their former school.
Over 100 million shillings will be needed for the construction process of the MUKOBA Stadium in Mutundwe.
The old students are to use the forthcoming MUKOBA Sports Gala due on Sunday, 8th October 2023 at the school playground as a fundraising avenue towards the project.
All set ahead of the MUKOBA Sports Gala
Each team that will participate in the Gala will have to contribute Shs1M which will go towards the construction of the stadium.
John Bosco Ntaate, the chairperson of the 2023 MUKOBA Sports Gala asserted that the event helps them return to their roots and also share ideas with the school
“This is an old students initiative which helps us return to our roots and share ideas with the school administration.” We share part of our social capital as former students and as way to give back to the school.”
“The proceeds from this year’s gala will go to the construction of a modern facility from where we used to play from.” Said Ntaate

The first phase will begin with the grading and leveling of the land then followed by grass planting. The second phase will comprise of construction of the stands for fans.
Thirteen Ugandan million shillings (Shs13M) have been collected towards the project.
Meanwhile, teams such as Miners (84-90), Bichepere (93), 99 Generals, Mao Rice, VD (95-01), Kabaabi (2002-2008), Poachers (2002), Bunayira Warriors (91-97), Ggonyo (99-2005), Bojjas (09), Jungle Boys (1986-1992), Membe Titans (90-96), The 20Tens have all confirmed participation in the third edition of the Gala.
Participants will compete in volleyball, tag of war, football 7-aside, leg race among others with the overall winner walking away with a winners’ shield among other prizes

For starters, Mugwanya Preparatory School, Kabojja is one of the oldest all boys primary schools in Uganda. It was built in 1960 under the supervision of Brothers of Christian instruction Kisubi.
The land on which it was built was a generous gift from the late Stansilus Mugwanya and the school name is in the memory.
