Byekwaso to handle Uganda U-18 CECAFA team in Kenya

FUFA has appointed Morley Byekwaso as the U-18 Boys team for the forthcoming CECAFA U-18 tournament in Kenya.

Last month, the SC Villa assistant coach served as Uganda Cranes interim head coach during friendly games against Mali and Zambia.

The 2021 AFCON U20 finalist has once again been given the opportunity to serve the nation as the head coach of the U-18 team.

Byekwaso will be assisted by former Uganda Cranes international player Abubaker Tabula.

Tabula has previously managed Ssese Ssaza team in the Buganda Masaza Cup prestigious tournament.

Stephen Billy Kiggundu will be the goalkeeping coach while Noah Kasule is the fitness trainer.

Bashir Mutyaba has been named as the Team manager while Michael Gumisiriza is the team doctor.

Meanwhile, the Uganda U-18 team has also been named and comprises of SC Villa trio of Hakim Mutebi, Simon Mukisa and Abasi Kyeyune.

KCCA FC’s Abubaker Mayanja and Travis Mutyaba are the other notable players summoned.

The CECAFA U-18 Boys Championship is scheduled to take place from November 25 to December 9 in Kenya.
