Big League side Lugazi FC are set to appoint legendary tactician Richard Makumbi as their new head coach, Swift Sports understands.
Makumbi is set to take charge of the club following the suspension of coach William Kyeswa about a fortnight ago.
During Mr. Kyeswa’s suspension, the club has been under the stewardship of assistant coach Gerald Efiti in an interim capacity.
Makumbi is a veteran coach who has been active for the last 31 years.
He has successfully guided a total of 12 clubs to promotion to the topflight league.
The 12 include Vipers (Bunamwaya), BUL FC, Soana, Iganga Town Council, Fire Masters, Mbarara City and Buikwe Red Stars.
Others are SCOUL, Mukono Lions, Utoda and Kenya’s Western Stima.
Lugazi currently sit 6th on the Big League table with 11 points from the six games they have played so far.
