Lugazi FC 2-1 Kigezi Homeboyz
Sam Ssemugugu once again scored a late winning goal to guide Lugazi FC to a hard fought 2-1 win over Kigezi Homeboyz on Sunday.
Ssemugugu took his scoring tally to eight goals this season, one behind leading scorer Isaac Ogwang of Police FC.
Lugazi took an early lead through Freedom Mungudit from a goal mouth melee in the 12th minute of the game.
10 minutes later, Kigezi Homeboyz equalized through forward Davis Muheirwe following a well orchestrated move and ensured a tie at the halftime break.
Ssemugugu restored Lugazi’s lead in the 89th minute and ultimately won all three points for the Richard Makumbi coached side.
Lugazi maintained their second place but moved to 24 points, two behind leaders Police FC.
Kigezi Homeboyz are 10th on the table with 14 points from 11 games played so far.
Lugazi will visit Kaaro Karungi on Thursday 15th while Kigezi will host Police FC in Kabale on Wednesday 14th.
