Express FC came from a goal down to thrash NEC 5-2 under the floodlights of Lugogo on Thursday to earn Alex Isabirye first win.
Victory also saw Express FC end their seven game winless run, they had suffered four defeats and drawn three before the win over NEC.
Isaac Wagoina and Emmanuel Alex Wasswa each scored twice with Steven Timothy Ssenfuma scoring the other goal for the Red Eagles.
Cromwell Rwothomio and Tony Kiberu netted NEC FC’s two goals.
Rwothomio put the home side ahead in the second minute before Wagoina levelled matters for the visitors in the 16th minute.
In the 30th minute, Wasswa gave Isabirye’s side the lead after combining perfectly with Wagoina.
With two minutes to halftime breather, the Red Eagles were awarded a penalty after a foul on Ssenfuma in the forbidden area.
Wagoina was entrusted with the opportunity and perfectly converted from the spot to extend Express FC’s lead.
Ssenfuma also registered his name on the score sheet in the 76th minute before Wasswa completed his brace from the spot following a foul on Seif Batte.
NEC’s Kiberu completed the scoring with three minutes to normal time.
Express FC stay 8th on the Uganda Premier league table with 16 points while NEC remain 5th with 20 points.
