Uganda Premier league SC Villa Giants have part ways with midfielder Ivan Sserubiri.
Swift Sports Uganda understands that SC Villa have decided to release the midfielder who had six months remaining on his employment contract.
Sserubiri has been out of favour at SC Villa and has not started a game since the appointment of Dusan Stojanovic.
Sources reveal that Express FC have already held talks with Sserubiri’s representatives for the possible transfer.
He joined the 16 time Uganda Premier league champions at the start of last year as a free agent following expiration of his contract at URA FC.
Sserubiri has previously featured for Buddu in the prestigious Masaza Cup competition winning the 2016 edition and was also named as the Most Valuable Player of the competition that same year.
He also played for five time Masaza Cup winners Gomba as well as Buganda Regional League side Free Stars FC.
SC Villa have also released midfielder Davis Ssekajja.
The 16 time Uganda Premier league champions finished the first round in fifth position with 26 points.
