Forward Denis Omedi scored a second half hat trick to inspire Kitara FC to a 3-0 win over UPDF FC at the Bombo Military Grounds.
Omedi broke the deadlock in the 58th minute with a powerful header after defender Samson Kasozi failed to make a clearance from Arthur Kiggundu’s long ball.
The 2022/23 Big League top scorer doubled the lead with a thumping shot from Frank Zaga Tumwesigye’s exquisite lobbing assist in the 67th minute.
He completed his treble with another clinical finish as he lobbed the ball above UPDF keeper Jimmy Okidi in the 89th minute.

Omedi’s hat trick took his tally to eight goals this season. He joins a special list of players who have scored hat tricks this season. Ghanaian Asiwome Fumador and Nelson Senkatuuka are others.
Kitara are now second on the table with 32 points, two behind leaders BUL FC who drew goalless with KCCA on Friday.
Defeat for UPDF means the Army Men are winless in their last nine league games and remain second from bottom on the table with nine points.
Kitara will host Villa in their next game on Friday 9th while UPDF will visit URA FC on Tuesday 6th February at Lugazi.
