KCCA FC and Police FC cruised to the quarterfinal stage of the Stanbic Uganda Cup after victories over URA FC and Soltilo Bright Stars respectively.
Abdallah Mubiru’s men needed a late Mustafa Kizza free kick goal to beat beat David Obua’s URA FC 1-0 in the round of 16 contest at Metha Stadium in Lugazi on Monday, 4th March.
The game was interrupted by a heavy downpour and referee Ashadu Ssemeere had to stop play in the 15th minute.
The game however resumed after the heavy rains and the 10 time competition winners prevailed with after URA FC custodian James Alitho failed to deal with Kizza’s effort from a free kick.
Meanwhile, Police FC thumped Bright Stars 4-0 at Kavumba Recreation ground.
Goals came from Herman Wasswa, Steven Kabuye and a brace from Isaac Ogwang.
The Big League side join Pajule Lions, Kitara FC, BUL FC and KCCA FC into the last eight.
