Uganda Cranes midfielder Khalid Aucho has undergone a minor knee surgery which will keep him out of action for about three weeks.

Aucho got injured during Yanga’s 1-0 defeat to Al Ahly last Friday in the CAF Champions League in Cairo.

The Tanzanian champions have today confirmed that Aucho will miss a number of games after undergoing surgery.

He played an instrumental role in all the six group games as Yanga booked a place in the CAF Champions League quarter finals for the first time ever.

However, despite his starring role, Aucho is now a doubt for the quarter finals which will start with first legs at the end of this month.

Yanga qualified as Group D runners up and will either face Petro Atletico de Luanda (Angola), Mamelodi Sundowns (South Africa) or Ivory Coast’s ASEC Mimosas.

He will also miss Uganda’s upcoming friendly games in this month’s international break.
