SC Villa reaffirm title quest with victory over Mbarara City

SC Villa cruised to the 2-1 victory over Mbarara City at Muteesa II Stadium in Wankulukuku on Saturday.

The game saw Mbarara City head coach Wasswa Bbosa return to his former paymasters.

Umar Lutalo fired the hosts into the lead with a spectacular free kick goal to send the home fans into delight.

Henry Kitegenyi restored parity for the visitors before the halftime breather.

In 68th minute, Hakim Kiwanuka sensationally netted the winner for the home side.

Dusan Stojanovic’s side could have scored more but couldn’t capitalize on them.

Victory takes SC Villa into third place and are now five points adrift of leaders Kitara FC and two games in hand.

The record league winners will next face off with Busoga United on Thursday, 4th April.

Meanwhile, the Ankole Lions are 10th on the Uganda Premier league log with 27 points they have garnered this term.
