St Julian High School have been crowned champions of Greater Mukono region at Allied Teachers High School grounds in Nyenga Mukono District.
To be emerge champions Felix Kawooya Ssekabuza’s coach side defeated Quality High School 1-0 thanks to substitute Jahid Mwondha for scoring the winner.
Subsitute Mwondha had replaced Gideon Jemba.
Kawooya could not hide his happiness after his side being crowned champions but believes they still have a lot to do if they are to compete St the fourth coming nationals in Masaka,
“Winning this championship is a great motivation to the team as that targets not only participating at the nationals but also competing.”
“We still have some work to do to continue improving so our focus now is rectifying the mistakes the technical team has noticed then we shall be good to go.”
Greater Mukono will be represented by champions St Julian High School, losing finalists Quality High School and Mukono Kings High School.
2023 Greater mukono champions Mukono Kings High School defeated Vision for Africa 2-1 to seal a slot at the USSSA nationals to be played in Masaka later this month.
