BUL FC goalkeeper Thomas Ikara made a catastrophic mistake to gift NEC to a 1-0 win at Lugogo on Wednesday and dents BUL’s title League hopes.

Ikara tried to save his side from conceding a corner kick but left the ball in play to gift Kelvin Barni for NEC’s goal in the 55th minute.

BUL FC coach Abbey Kikomeko was sent off for protesting.

Defeat hits BUL FC’s title hopes and they are now third on the Uganda Premier league table with 46 points and a point adrift of leaders Kitara FC.

NEC FC are now fourth on the log with 43 points in 25 games they have so far played.

The two sides will next face off in the first leg of the Semifinal of the Stanbic Uganda Cup on Sunday at Njeru Technical centre.

BUL FC will then host fellow title challengers Vipers SC on 1st May at newly refurbished Mandela National Stadium in Namboole.
