Faridi Rashidi scored the all important goal for UPDF in their 1-0 victory against Wakiso Giants to survive relegation.
UPDF FC came in their game of the season with only 24 points and praying for maximum points if they were to survive the drop.
Faridi’s moment came in the 59th minute as he scored the only goal that save the Army men.
At the end of the day UPDF completed the season in the 13th position with 27 points from 29 games.
Busoga United and Gaddafi FC were both relegated after finishing in the 14 and 15th positions respectively with 25 points each.
They joined Arua Hill SC that was relegated at the end of the first round after failing to meet the maximum requirements.
Record champions SC Villa were crowned champions of the 2023/24 season after finishing on top of the table with 57 points.
