UPDF FC forward Faridi Rashid Achumu is set to join defender Joseph Vuni among the departures at the club.
Swift Sports Uganda understands that Achumu’s employment contract at the army side expired after the just concluded season.
Achumu joined UPDF FC at the start of the 2022/23 season on a two year deal from Synergy FC.
Last season, he was instrumental in helping UPDF FC overcome relegation scoring seven league goals including the only important goal that secured their stay on the final day against Wakiso Giants.
He also netted against Busoga United, Bright Stars, KCCA FC and Maroons FC to finish as the Army side’s top scorer in the just concluded league campaign.
UPDF finished the season with 27 points in the 13th position hence surviving relegation, with Gaddafi, Busoga United and Arua Hill heading to the FUFA Big League.
