Rwanda Premier League moneybags Police FC have expressed strong interest in signing striker Cromwell Rwothomio Abang.
According to FUFA TV’s Sportlight Show, the Rwanda Police bankrolled team is set to sign Rwothomio who is currently a free agent.
On Sunday, Rwothomio used his social media accounts to bid farewell to NEC FC as his one year contract officially comes to an end.
Reports have also been linking him to a return to his former side URA FC who are expected to embark on a rebuilding process under new coach Alex Isabirye.
If Rwothomio joins Rwanda Police FC, he will reunite with his former URA FC teammate Derrick Ndahiro.
It has also been established that the Cops have parted ways with Ugandan offensive midfielder Moses Sseruyidde Kinye after one season.
As a player, Rwothomio rose to the scene with Paidha Black Angels before he lured URA FC to sign him mid way the 2018/19 season.
He joined Vipers in 2022 but his spell at Kitende short-lived before he joined NEC FC at the start of the concluded season.
He scored nine goals in the 26 league games he played and he netted twice in the Stanbic Uganda Cup as the Hussein Mbalangu coached side finished as runners up.
Rwanda Police will seek targeting an improved campaign next season after finishing 7th on the league table last season having amassed 39 points from 30 games.
