Proline FC edge CATDA in an epic shoot out to inch closer to Big League return

SINAN RAJUB SENOGA 

Proline FC emerged as the Champions of the Kamoala Regional League after beating CATDA FC 7-6 on penalties in the final played at Wankulukuku.

Fulltime ended 1-1 with Paul Kiradha and Hudson Mbalire scoring for both sides respectively.

Kiradha broke the deadlock to give Proline the lead with a header from Paul Nkuubi’s well delivered cross in the 63rd minute.

CATDA equalized through Mbalire who scored his 19th goal of the season following a defensive error between goalkeeper Musa Semakula and left back Sulaiman Mutyaba in the 75th minute.

The encounter headed for a shoot out and Proline edged CATDA to seal the championship.

Jerome Otim, Mulindwa Musa, Kevin Obua, Kiradha, Mutyaba, goalkeeper Semakula and Mayende Morgan scored for Proline while Nkuubi and Brian Mato missed theirs.

Bruno Mukasa, Denis Ola and Norman Odipio missed for CATDA while Geoffrey Gagganga, Martin Kikambi, Faizal Senoga, Mike Kintu and Abima Michael scored theirs.

Proline will face the eventual champions of Buganda Regional League to determine which team gains promotion to the Big League.

Ntungasaze FC and Simba FC will face off the Buganda Regional League final on 9th June at the Lugazi Stadium.
