Uncertainty hovers around the future of over 12 Vipers SC players

There is a lot of unsureness at Vipers SC after a lacklustre 2023/24 season that saw the Kitende based side end the season trophyless.

Many changes could be made to both the coaching and playing staff in the upcoming transfer window.

The futures of several first-team players could depend on the outcome of the review of the season the hierarchy are set to undertake.

That said, over 12 players could be on their way out of Vipers side before the start of the 2024/25 campaign.

The players who could be on their way out l are Ashraf Mandela, Fabien Mutombora, Murushid Juuko, Siraje Ssentamu, Martin Kizza, Marvin Youngman, Milton Karisa, Abubaker Lawal, Bright Anukani, Fumador Awisome, Isa Mubiru and Yunus Sentamu

Captain Karisa along with his deputies Ashraf Mandela, Siraje Ssentamu and goalkeeper Fabien Mutombora are out of contract.

Nigerian striker Abubaker Lawal and Marvin Youngman will also be out of contract this month while Kizza only has six months left on his contract.

For Youngman, the club is willing to extend his contract having impressed in the final games of the season.

Bright Anukani is also out of contract but Swift Sports Uganda understands that the Venoms are willing to extend his stay despite interest from both champions SC Villa and his former paymasters KCCA FC.

Fumador and Mubiru could also be on their way with their current contracts expiring in June next year.

Yunus Sentamu’s future is also uncertain having suffered a significant drop-off in form, the talisman only managed four league goals last campaign.

Last season, the six time Uganda Premier league champions were dethroned by SC Villa to the title as they finished third on the table with 56 points.
