The Council for East and Central Africa Football (CECAFA) has confirmed the cancellation of the 2024 senior challenge Cup.
The event that is played between senior national Men’s teams was scheduled for late June to July 14th this year in Zanzibar.
The latest development from CECAFA indicates that the event has been cancelled
“The CECAFA Senior Challenge Cup 2024 which was meant to open the CECAFA calendar from June 29th to July 14th has also been cancelled to give players more time to prepare with their teams ahead of the CECAFA Kagame Cup.”
The CECAFA Senior Challenge Cup will return after it was last held five years ago in 2019 in Kampala. The hosts Uganda defeated Eritrea 3-0 in the final of the last CECAFA Senior Challenge Cup.
