Defender Gavin Kizito has seen his contract with SC Villa cancelled after club accused him of indiscipline.

It was reported that Kizito led fellow players in pressurizing the club to pay their arrears in salaries and bonuses.

Sources also reveal that when the club head coach Dusan Stojanovic returned from holiday, he asked senior players including captain Kizito to narrate to him their challenges.

The players cited unpaid bonuses which led the coach to report the matter to club President Omar Mandela who had previously discussed the same issue with Kizito.

The defender rejoined the club in 2023 after his contract with Egyptian side Al-Ittihad Alexandria was also prematurely ended.

He was a central force in Villa’s triumphant season where they ended a 20 year wait for the title.

A product of the club’s youth structure, Kizito was destined to be named team captain following the departure of Kenneth Semakula.

Villa also confirmed that striker Emmanuel Ajo was signed in the current transfer window and registered by the club. This came as a counter to NEC’s announcement that they signed the same players.
