Owek.Robert Serwanga the Buganda Kingdom Minister for Sports, Youth and Art has called upon all Football travelling fans to mind about their safety as they travel to support their respective counties,
He made the remarks at Gombe Referral Hospital were two Kyaggwe fans are still nursing injuries after the nasty accident they survived at Kayenje in Butambala District on their way back from a game with Gomba at Kabulasoke,
“We would like to appreciate the security personnel plus the doctors at Gombe Referral Hospital for the support and treatment rendered to the casualties.”
“Fans as we celebrate our victory let’s make sure we move in the very appropriate ways we shall only enjoy this game when we are alive, I request the security personnel to help us ensure the road guidelines are observed by the traveling fans.”
Surviver Baker Lumu a radio presenter with Mukono based radio Dunamis FM called upon the football fraternity to stand with him on his road to recovery,
“Through this pain I can fail to smile after Owek Serwanga’s visit we appreciate you for standing with us I know my journey to recovery will not be easy but I am strong and hopeful will overcome.”
“I call upon everyone to come support me with anything they can.”
Gombe Referral Hospital received 16 casualties, eight were referred to Mulago, six were discharged while Alfred Zavuga and Lumu are still under their watch. Sadick Ssemakula and Richard Luboyera lost their lives on spot.
