New Uganda Premier league entrants Mbale Heroes and Maroons FC are interested in signing BUL FC striker Gerald Ogweti.
Ogweti has a year left on his employment contract at BUL FC and both Mbale Heroes and Maroons want to boost their striking line in this transfer window.
In the 2023/24 season, Ogweti served as a double licensed player of both BUL FC and Mbale Heroes.
He scored four goals for Mbale Heroes while playing as a double licensed player from BUL FC and helped the Mbale based club to win promotion to the UPL.
Maroons are expected to lose their starman Fred Amaku this window and want to replace him with Ogweti.
Ogweti joined BUL FC on a two year employment contract from Lugazi FC at the start of last season.
At Lugazi, he was a key pillar for the side when they secured Big League promotion in 2021/22 season.
In the same season, he managed to finish as the Buganda Regional league top scorer with 16 goals.
During the 2022/23 Big League campaign, he scored 18 goals for Lugazi as they finished 5th on the log with 44 points.
Besides featuring for Lugazi and BUL FC, Ogweti has also previously featured for Lugazi Municipal FC.
He is also a former player at Kyaggwe and Busiro in the prestigious Buganda Kingdom Masaza Cup tournament.
