Former NEC FC striker Brian Kayanja is close to a return to UPDF FC, Swift Sports Uganda understands.

Kayanja will join the army side on a one year employment contract after expiration of his contract at NEC FC.

The move will see him return to UPDF FC whom he left in 2021 to join Uganda Premier league giants KCCA FC.

In his final season (2020/21) at UPDF FC, Kayanja scored eight league goals and one in the Uganda Cup.

He joined KCCA FC at the start of the 2021/22 campaign and in February 2023, he was loaned to Maroons FC.

At the start of last season, Kayanja joined NEC FC after expiration of his contract at KCCA FC.

During his time at NEC FC, Kayanja has horrendously been affected with injuries limiting him to playing time.

Kayanja has also had stints at Soltilo Bright Stars and Kenya’s Sofapaka.

UPDF FC survived relegation last term on the final day of the season, finishing 13th on the UPL table with 27 points.
