Six time Uganda Premier league champions Vipers SC through their President Dr Lawrence Mulindwa have on Tuesday, 16th July 2024 launched the inaugural Vipers Day.
Mulindwa revealed the purpose and objectives as well as the activities that will unfold on the Vipers Day that is scheduled for Saturday 27th July at St.Mary’s Stadium in Kitende.
“For the past four years (except Covid years), we have been organizing what we call Vipers fans day with a purpose of bringing the fans together. This has helped us attract numbers.” Said Mulindwa before adding,
“We are transforming the fans day to the Vipers day. Vipers is a big family so we are looking at a bigger picture. This is a day when everyone who wishes Vipers good joins. Everything on that day will be football, other countries have already started it like in South Africa and Tanzania.
“In Uganda we are yet to have such a successful event. It’s one way of mobilizing the fans, to remind them that football is a beautiful game.”
On the glamorous day, Vipers SC Legends will face off with the club fans while the current team will battle with a guest team outside Uganda under the floodlights of Kitende.
Unveiling of the technical team and squad for 2024/25 season will also be done on the same day.
