Dusan Stojanovic honoured and Privileged to have been SC Villa head coach

Dusan Stojanovic insists he is “honoured and privileged” to have served and joined the SC Villa family.

The Serbian mutually parted ways with the record Uganda Premier league champions on Saturday.

Stojanovic penned down a farewell on Sunday following the news of his departure and thanked the Jogoo faithfuls for their amazing support during his time at the club.

“Since my arrival into SC Villa family in June 2023 my blood turned blue and I started living my life for our team committed to be club servant and dedicated to be team soldier in order to return back sense of pride to Villa badge returning to the top of Ugandan football as well as to put smile on faces of all those that support Sc VILLA.”

“During that roller coaster journey I had the honor and privilege to get to know Ugandan culture ,tradition style of life,habits as well as beauty of the game of football in Uganda.”

Said Stojanovic before adding,

“With extreme level of hardworking approach garnished with unity and togetherness like in action thriller movie against top class opposition of other teams we were winning Uganda premier league trophy that has been elusive for 20 years making football going back to Villa park winning in process 17th league trophy.”

“However leaded by personal challenges iam returning back home to Belgrade Serbia and would like to use opportunity to express my wholehearted gratitude and sincere respect to all great people I have worked with and furthermore people I have competed against during my 14 months in Uganda.”

His appreciation message to the club management

“Sincere appreciation to management of Sc Villa lead by President Hajji Omar Mandela for all practical and declarative support they have given to me throughout my stay under whose guidance I grew as a human being and football coach.”

“Special deep thanks to all members of SC VILLA technical team as well as supporting staff in the club and Mandela group of companies previous and present that I have worked with selflessly serving our team through team selection, overall education, transportation and accommodation as well as training and competition.”

“Words could not express enough gratitude to all Sc Villa players I have worked with during my time as I have given my all human capacity and technical knowledge giving them my heart and my mind and in process taking their souls and bodies for the game of football and our Villa team.”

“It was special privilege to be their elder brother, life guide and football coach as they will stay forever engraved in my heart.”

Special sincere respect to all Ugandan football stakeholders from all spheres of life in Uganda Fufa,clubs,match officials sponsors ,Media , supporters and football family for honor and pleasure to be part of great football and sports competition environment during my time with SC Villa.

Finally I know what it means being supporter as I grew up supporting my Red Star Belgrade I want to express mind-blowing recognition and utmost respect to Sc VILLA supporters spiritual owners of our team that have unreservedly supporting ,inspiring and motivating our team as player number 12 always being there trough thick and thin of competitive season behind us being our driving force to stretch over all human and sports limits and win the league for our Blue family.”

The Serbian was replaced by his assistant Morley Byekwaso who will be serving in interim capacity and his first competitive match in charge will be against Uganda Cranes Select team in the FUFA Super 8 on Saturday at MTN Omondi Stadium in Lugogo.
